ACRON - MATERIAL DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS - IDEAL MATERIAL
ACRON is a completely new, universal material designed for denture plates.
It has been invented as the result of the co-operation of the company of ROKO with scientists preoccupied with polymer chemistry.
The effect of 5 years of scientific research and 2 years of laboratory testing is constituted by the material which combines the advantages of acrylic such as stiffness, aesthetics with the resistance and durability of polyamides.
The requirements for dental materials are defined by the EN ISO 20795-1:2009 Dentistry - Denture Base Polymers Medical Standard.
ACRON properties comparison against the EN ISO 20795-1:2009.
Units EN ISO ACRON
Absorption ug/mm3 32 18
Solubility ug/mm3 1,6 1,3
Residual monomer MM % 2,20
Absorption refers to the material's propensity to ingest fluids such as saliva, food or liquids residues, etc. Consequently, lower absorption value indicates higher quality.
ACRON has 50% lower absorption
than conventional materials for denture plates.
Solubility refers to the prosthetic material permeating into a human body. Better quality materials have lower solubility.
ACRON has 20% lower solubility
than conventional materials for denture plates.
Residual monomer - methyl methacrylate (MMA) is the unpolymerized monomer that still remains incorporated in the polymer after the polymerization process has completed. It is potentially a harmful substance for patients as well as laboratory personnel so its content within dental materials should be minimised.
ACRON has no residual monomer (MMA)
The properties of ROKO thermoplastic materials significantly exceed the requirements of the EN ISO 20795-1:2009 standard. Their use guarantees safety for patients and legal indemnity for medical personnel.
